Writing

I’m discovering my creative flow. As a result of all that led up to and culminated in the powerful shamanic rebirth experience I had at Healing Quest this past summer, I’m out of my way and into writing. My book, that is. One of several trying to come through me for too many years. So many starts and stops. With the past now behind me, I can finally be a vehicle for the flow of words. This is what my life has been looking like since mid-August: I go into a “cave of writing” as I’ve begun...

Shamanic Rebirth

“Not until a person dissolves can he or she know what union is. There is a descent into emptiness. A lie will not change to Truth with just talking about it.” Rumi   Shamanic Rebirth is a template for healing and awakening. It offers an opportunity to participate in conscious death and rebirth within this lifetime. We name an unhealthy theme or pattern we’ve been struggling with, and with the help of an ancient Q’ero ceremony, sometimes known as the "ceremony of the black pant," (see...

Become an Initiated Chunpi Paqo

The Sacred Khuya Ceremony   The Khuya Ceremony takes place within the soul, or energy bubble as the Q’ero call it. This is the field of living energy surrounding our physical bodies that expands, contracts, and defines our personal space (or lack of.) Khuya stones are used to open, cleanse, empower, and connect the seven major energy centers of the body via a series of chunpis - belts of power. During this interactive experience, heavy energy of all kinds is released, and by the end, a...

PERU

Dear Friends, I’ve been back for about 3 1/2 weeks now and am still unable to put any words on paper to begin sharing my stories. The trip exceeded both my planning and imagination, the two-week group part, as well as the one-week afterward in Cusco with some of the group. Peru changed me. Beginning with our opening ceremony north of Lima at the 5000 year old Caral ruins, where we connected with and received foundational energies of our ancestors of the Americas, to our first meeting with Apu...

The Year of Orange Wholeness

I like to name things. My car is Mama Cocha, Mother Ocean in Quechua; my house/property is Gratitude Sanctuary. I’ve been known to name days, clothing, events, trips…... My special recording pen is Penita. My most recent naming is a chair I bought just before my birthday. A dear friend, Winona was visiting, and we went on an outing to a local second hand store. Just the week before I had told a class, “I’m sick of this chair (an old rocker I was sitting on;) I want something cozy.” We walked...

Getting Older

How did a year go by so quickly? I just turned 60 last April, and now I’m turning 61!   60 has been an amazing, turning point age for me. I remember this time last year so clearly. I was preparing for my Blessingway, a ceremony I asked my friend, Jean to create for me. I somehow knew that becoming 60 would be significant and didn’t want to wait until my 65th birthday (what Jean and I had originally planned) to receive and participate in this ceremony.   I was correct; this has been an...

Dismemberment

There is an energy of dismemberment occurring on the planet. Structures are toppling. Foundations are crumbling. We see this within individuals, families, communities, states and countries.

My Reunion with Putu Cusi

We arrived in Aguas Calientes, the town in the mountains where everyone stays when they go to Machu Picchu, got settled into our hotel and then walked down the railroad tracks directly to Putu Cusi. I felt as if a force was pulling me to her.        At the base of the mountain, I made a connection and opened my qosqo, my spiritual stomach, so I’d be able to freely receive her energy. It was thrilling to walk up the old Incan steps; I was directly upon Putu Cusi for the first time ever!...
