Spiritual Travel to Peru
I’ve been traveling to Peru for thirty years and will likely return for thirty more. Do you want to know why?
Peru is magical.
I love the open hearts and spiritual unity of the people. Everyone—taxi drivers, white-collar workers, restaurant owners, Indigenous peoples—all speak from the depths of their hearts about how proud they are of their heritage and of the power and mystery of the land.
When my process felt complete, I returned to my pilgrimage beginnings— Emily’s house. We sat around the campfire drinking fresh mango margaritas and soon became inspired to lead the first of what became many spiritual travel group trips together. We wanted to bring participants to the same sacred places that had healed me so deeply. We began that next year. And while each trip had a different theme, the Four-Petaled Flower was always a prominent partner.
During one of our journeys, Emily and I realized it was time to immerse ourselves in Teotihuacan without any preconceived ideas or names given to us by the Aztecs or archeologists. We wanted to learn about the ruins directly from the ancestors. The group was excited about this new approach.
We explored the ruins daily with open hearts and minds; each participant more deeply invested in their own experiences than if we had been guided by information from the “experts.” On our final day, we climbed to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun and sat together in a circle around the center marking. The four-petaled cave was directly beneath us.
The sky was sunny and blue, and reflections of powder-puff clouds dotted our bodies. We centered ourselves and then grounded, deep down through the pyramid and into the cave. It wasn’t long before we received a blessing-a visitation from one of our Teotihuacana spirit ancestors, Sarayna. These are the words she spoke through me:
“As you hear me speak, the energy of creation is filling you from underneath, through the base of this pyramid. Let it. This is what we did in my day.
The Four-Petaled Flower is a symbol of All Life. It is Wholeness, Beauty, Fragrance, Bounty, Harvest, and Union.
The energy of each petal imparts uniqueness, and each comes together in the center-a combined union of all of the petals-and radiates out to create the energy of the entire symbol, which is its own uniqueness.
My people loved and revered this symbol. In my day, every home had a specific altar place where the Four-Petaled Flower resided and radiated. Sometimes we would become the flower. During ceremonies and festivals, we would dance, sing, and integrate the symbol inside ourselves.
All Life. No Beginning. No End. All Unified. This is human shape-shifting.
It is important to instill the Four-Petaled Flower within. Imagine your heart center as the circle within the flower, and each petal radiating from your chest. Every day is an opportunity to live as a Four-Petaled Flower. Receive its energy deep within. Become the energy and feed it to all humanity.”
After that mystical teaching, Emily and I realized that our next journey would focus solely on the Four-Petaled Flower.
One year later...
Our group hadn’t arrived yet, and Emily and I were sitting around her kitchen table making plans for the week. In the midst of sipping cafe de oya/sweet, cinnamon coffee, we simultaneously (it was pretty miraculous) awoke to the purpose of the week:
Re-awaken the Four-Petaled Flower—the symbol of the Unity of All Life—and integrate it into Universal Consciousness. Learn about the flower from our guides and teachers and bring the image and wisdom to the planet in a new way.
We realized it would be important to move through the ruins differently than we had in the past. Each day, we would begin in the center—in front of the Four-Petaled Flower cave directly underneath the Pyramid of the Sun—and walk along its invisible petals while activating them.
This process would also support each participant to awaken to new awareness regarding their personal uniqueness. When all four petals were fully activated, we would come together as a combined Union and awaken the center of the flower in service to All Beings. No one in our lifetime, as far as we knew, had done this. We decided it was The Way of the Ancients.
This is what happened:
This unique, four-petaled route through the ruins of Teotihuacan included being outside the gated area and inside several surrounding communities. Every day was a new and powerful experience. Each person’s intuitive knowings were considered regarding where to go, how far, and which areas were inside of whatever petal we were awakening that day. I loved being in the different towns and visiting their distinctive churches, parks, and communities.
It wasn’t always fun. The biggest surprise was how much heavy energy arose to be released and refined within each individual. And while at times it was extremely taxing, we were aware that although the heaviness felt personal, it was collective, and by experiencing it, we were performing a mystical service and creating a more potent portal of Unity. I am grateful to each participant. Thank you for helping to heal and unify the human soul.
An extraordinary transmission came through Emily amidst it all:
The energetic imprint of the Four-Petaled Flower image is a universal symbol brought to us by our star family ancestors who embedded it within the body of Earth in an infinite number of directions. The Four-Petaled Flower image spins out endlessly from Earth’s center, creating a complete sphere which we perceive as Earth.
What if we looked in the mirror every morning and said, “I am a Four-Petaled Flower of Wholeness.” And then breathed into our heart/soul space, the center of our flower, and envisioned all four petals surrounding it. What if, throughout the day, we fertilized our flowers and fed their life force by expressing our unique scents, beauty, and colors? I think Sarayna might call this human shape-shifting.
Every human being is a rare and perfect manifestation of the Four-Petaled Flower. Let’s do as Sarayna asks, “Become the energy and feed the energy to all humanity.”
